Quiet Storm Girls in Sport
This author workshop uses Quiet Storm as a backdrop to explore girls’ experiences in sport, focusing on confidence, resilience, and finding your voice. Through discussion and reflection, students will consider the challenges and pressures girls can face in sport, as well as the strength it can offer. The session ends with a creative activity where students design a Girls in Sport collage, expressing what sport means to them through images, words, and ideas. (30 max)
Always Angel Recipe for Resilience
This author workshop uses Always Angel as the backdrop for Recipe for Resilience, a session focused on not being defined by labels and learning to believe in yourself. Through discussion and reflection, students explore Angel’s journey and the pressures of expectations, behaviour labels, and self-doubt. The workshop ends with a creative activity where students decorate a cake box and cake, using words, colours, and symbols to represent resilience, self-belief, and who they truly are beneath the labels.
